The more cars you put out there the more issues you are going to have. They still have a better quality rating than the big 3.

It is because Honda & Toyota want to increase the profit. The way is to increase the production dramatically to fill up the demand but they both lower the quality control. As a result, the quality is downed, even Japan government is asking them to improve.

When you have the 4-5 year product life on existing models, it really puts pressure on engineering to hurry up and release the product to manufacturing.

Accelerated testing can only forecast so much, because operating conditions are so diverse that components will fail in the field regardless how you try to model its use in the lab.

The biggest hiccups usually take place when you change the chassis and powertrains….instead of holding the design up for further R and D work, it makes more economic sense to
the manufacturer to release the design to manufacturing and running a recall program later than to fix the underlying issue.

Notice how GM quietly moved the trucks fuel tanks within the framerails? How Ford quietly revamped the Explorer to have a wider track?

If production lines have to stop, they lose money.

So..skimped quality control in essence becomes Quality Assurance and customer support.

Actually, Japanese and foreign cars have better quality than American cars which is pretty pathetic. The only cars with the best quality are, in my opinion, German cars, like BMW or Mercedes Benz. its all about money. all car companies cut corners to cut down on costs and increase revenue.

they sucked us in in the seventies with cheap junk and then started building slightly better stuff but at more expensive rates. They are not the quality myth that everyone thinks. Rat commie bastardos!

Honda recalls,Toyota recalles,what happened to quality?
Honda recalled 1 millionvehicles last week and Toyota has recalled over 2.7 million vehicles in 2006 and has lawsuits over engine problems.So what happened to thier quality,I believe this is the end of quality products for them.And don't tell me this is a good thing,when ever GM,Ford or Chrysler have recalls everyone says they build poor quality vehicles.
