where do you go to get a headlight replaced in san jose, california?
Posted on Dec 31, 2008 under replacement auto parts | 6 Commentsdo I just buy it at the auto parts store and take it to any mechanic? Does it have to be done at a dealership? I don’t want to pay 2000.00 just for a headlight replacement ya know? Is it cheaper to have it done by a private mechanic than a dealership?
helpplz, Let me start out by saying I’m not always right when it comes to auto repair. Last month I had an accident with my Nissan Pulsar and I wasn’t sure how to fix them. I tried to search the web for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they’ve seen all sorts of situations ( insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in California to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshopreview.com/California-Repair-Shops.html

San Jose has the best headlights. Get the Napa parts to do it,
or jiffy lubes. Should be around 125.00 including car cleaned and
checked. Order an update inspection.

Depending on the car, it may be very simple to change the headlight bulb (which is what I assume that you need replaced) or it may require a few basic tools and little bit of skill.
Any garage can change a headlight bulb. You may even be able to get them to do it for you at a parts store.
If the headlight housing (not the bulb) is damaged, then you are looking at an expensive part and paying for the labor.

Yes, it is a relatively simple job. You can buy the replacement light and have any competent mechanic replace it for you. Dealers typically tend to charge more for everything.

just get a headlight from the junk yard and have someone put it in for you for a few bucks.
